Healing

Using a multifaceted approach to bodywork my goal is to get your body restored to have as much symmetry as possible. While employing multiple modalities and techniques I always consider your emotional and mental state to further increase the positive outcome of treatment.

As a former professional ice skater who spent more than 25 years performing around the world, I have experienced firsthand the physical demands, injuries, and recovery process that come with pushing the body to its limits. Those experiences shaped my passion for therapeutic bodywork and my belief that every individual deserves thoughtful, personalized care. At Encompassing Bodyworks, my goal is to help clients relieve pain, restore proper movement, and reconnect with the way their bodies are designed to function.

I was raised in Land O’ Lakes, Florida, and began ice skating at the age of 10. I immediately fell in love with the sport. By 15, I was training with two Olympic coaches and competing at the U.S. National Championships in both singles and pairs.

At 19, I began performing professionally at Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay while continuing to compete. During this time, I sustained a shoulder injury that would ultimately change the direction of my life. I was referred to a massage therapist who retrained the dysfunctional muscles in my shoulder, eliminated my pain, and restored proper movement.

It was my first experience with therapeutic massage, and it opened my eyes to the incredible potential of this work. That moment sparked a lifelong curiosity about the body and a deep passion for what I prefer to call bodywork.

Over the next 25 years of my professional skating career, I traveled to more than 40 countries performing in ice shows around the world. Like many athletes, my colleagues and I experienced our share of injuries along the way. During that time, I was treated by numerous physiotherapists, chiropractors, massage therapists, and physicians.

While many practitioners relied on standard protocols, I occasionally encountered exceptional professionals who approached their work differently. These practitioners combined deep knowledge, empathy, and intuition to truly understand the person they were treating—not just the condition. Those individuals became my mentors and helped shape the philosophy that guides my work today.

At Encompassing Bodyworks, I believe that every client deserves individualized care. No two bodies—and no two injuries—are exactly the same. My approach begins by listening carefully and working to understand the underlying causes of pain or dysfunction. From there, each session is tailored specifically to the needs of the individual.

Because of my own background as a professional athlete, I understand firsthand how frustrating and limiting pain can be. When clients describe their discomfort, I can often say, “I feel your pain,” because there is a good chance I have experienced something similar myself.

Through techniques focused on fascia, neuromuscular re-education, and restoring proper movement patterns, my goal is not simply to provide relaxation, but to help the body function the way it was designed to.

Whether you are dealing with chronic pain, recovering from injury, or simply looking to move and feel better in your daily life, my goal is to provide thoughtful, individualized bodywork that supports long-term healing and improved quality of life.

Massage Therapy That Works.

Contrary to popular belief, massage therapy or "bodywork" can alleviate most muscular discomfort issues. When muscles become dysfunctional, they pull on bones thus creating skeletal and structural issues. By releasing the tension in the muscles, the body is able to return to a natural resting state.
